this is Brandon Bourgeois with his very own “Brandon Button” handmade by non other than Lincoln Ohlerking. I think it resembles Brandon to a tee, and its most likely to be the new wave of fashion.
hahaha, i especially love his massive beard and pointy hat

almost done

I will be done with school in a week and a half.
yes.
so these is a just a little of what I need to finish up before finals.
Write my Africa paper, finish reading King Leopold’s Ghost, finish reading the New Testament (almost done), finish reading Volunteer Revolution, and then write an India paper. Those things, an English online assessment, and 3 LSU finals + Elevate [well, actually Healing Place School of Ministry to be 100% correct] final later….and i am fin.
ahh, how delightful.
and then I go to Africa, and do summer school. But at least I will be in Africa at school. wahh
it has been a good semester, but always relieved when they are done.
Plus, this is the halfway mark for me and my relationship with LSU. Two more years, then who knows what?! I sure don’t. But, I have two more years to figure all that jazz out.
thats all.

yes. dead cats. Andrew just recently ran over our cat and killed it, so I thought this might come in handy for him.

that is the car that the Pope rolls through town in. Im thinking about getting one and having Tori drive me around now that she has a license. This looks to be smaller than a Suburban, so she should be fine- right? haaa

I wonder what colors it comes in…hmmmm.

CHANGE the world

i just have to say a major THANK YOU to Mr. Danny Musso and the Musso clan.

When i posted back in November that I was going to Tanzania this summer, Mr. Danny told me he was going to save change for my trip. That meant so much to me that he and his family would sacrifice and give to me to go. Since it is not a “missions trip” I am not asking supporters for money, yet he has been saving for me out of his own heart and incredible kindness. It means so much to me that people stand behind me believing in me, you really don’t even know. Especially since his daughter is a full time intern who is going to India and his son is going to Swaziland, Africa too. Man oh man, THAT is a sacrifice!

This Wednesday at Refuge Mr. Danny showed up with a bag full of rolled change for me, and it pretty much made my day. It isn’t about the money or how many quarters are rolled up in there. It is about the fact that I know I have people in my life that stand behind me and no matter where I am in the world, they are supporting me and my dreams and all that God wants to do in my life.
So, thank you Mr. Danny. For all that you do, in Refuge and believing in this next generation, and for believing in me.

If you see the Mussos, give them a big high five.
ahhh- THANK YOU!

you’ve got mail

This is a letter I am mailing out to all of my supporters that I ask for support from each year. Just thought you might like to read it too…

Dear Friends-

I know you probably got this in the mail and opened it thinking, “Oh no. Not another support letter from Leah!” Well, you can breathe easy, because I am not asking for any money. I just wanted to let you know of all that God has done in my life over the past year and is allowing me to do this summer.
In 2008, I have finished my second year at LSU, working towards a degree in International Studies with a concentration in Africa and the Middle East. I have also participated in Elevate- the internship and school of Ministry at Healing Place Church. I have learned so much about ministry and the Bible over the past nine months, its incredible. I continue to serve with Refuge, the High School Ministry, each week and I love pouring into the lives of this generation with the knowledge that we will be the ones to change the world.
Over the past years you have helped support me to go to Lima, Peru and reach out to hurting people, getting the chance to provide the disabled with free wheelchairs, play with orphans, and share the love of Christ with battered women. You also helped support me to go to Los Angeles, California to help reach the hurting, feed the homeless, and worship God through serving His people. I want to thank you for that.
All of this to let you in on my plans for this summer. This year I have plans of a different sort. I will be spending six weeks, from May 28th- July 12th, this summer at the University of Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania on a Study Abroad trip with LSU. I will be going with my Swahili professor along with ten other LSU students to go and study Swahili and Swahili culture at the University. This is going to be an incredible, life-changing experience and I cannot tell you how full my heart is with joy. I have felt called to Africa for a number of years, but have never been. It’s a passion I cannot explain, other than being God-birthed within my heart.
I have waited patiently to get the opportunity to go, and this summer God has opened all the doors. So I am not writing to you asking for any money at all, but rather for support in prayer. Tanzania is a predominately Muslim country. While I am there I will be completely dependent on God’s strength and peace, and would be so grateful if you would lift me in your prayers.

Thank you so much for your continual support, you have no idea how much it means!

                                             -Leah

well, thats a lie. i did not. Romy and Michelle did. duh.

Here is the thing. i love quotes. i love to collect them from all over the place and write them down everywhere. That is why this is what my stickies look like-

i try to fit as many as i can. ill pull them up and just read them, add some, take others off.
I am going to start posting some of my quotables on here and filling you in on what they mean to me, where I found them, what about them really stands out to me. Some are from the Bible, some are from other books, random people, old sayings and the like.
That picture is an overview of all my top quotes right now.
So here is my question, im going to need some help
what is your favorite quote?
where did you find it?
what does it mean to you?
so share some quotes with me, maybe a new one for my stickies
